I want to add a beneficiary to the beneficiary library

  • Exclamation mark

For your security, we recommend that separate approval of changes by another user to the beneficiary record is required, and regular checks that no unauthorised changes have been made.

The Beneficiary Library allows you to manage your regularly used payment beneficiaries. Add new beneficiaries to the library so that they can be selected whenever you need to make a payment to them, meaning you don’t need to re-enter their details every time. You can also save the details of a new beneficiary while entering the details of a new payment or a payment template.

    1. Either select Payments > Beneficiary library or click Beneficiary library on the Payment Management screen to display the Beneficiary Library screen.
    2. Click Add.
    3. Enter a name of the person or business that will be paid.
    4. If required, enter a reference for the beneficiary to uniquely identify them in Commercial Banking Online.
    5. Enter the address and contact details of the beneficiary.
    6. Select the type of payment you will be making to the beneficiary from the dropdown and enter the beneficiary details relevant to the payment type selected.
Please check the sort code and account number are correct before proceeding.
      Select payment type
    7. If you want to add another payment type, click Add Payment Type.
    8. Once you’ve entered all of the beneficiary’s details, click Save. A message confirming that the beneficiary has been saved is displayed.
    9. If you want to:
      • Add another beneficiary, click Add New Record
      • Or click Close to return to the Beneficiary Library
    10. Once the new beneficiary has been approved, you can search for and select the beneficiary whenever you make payments to them.
    11. You can choose to add multiple records for the same beneficiary if you want to use a different beneficiary reference for different payments, for example.
You can also create beneficiaries and edit existing beneficiaries when you are making a payment. Find out more in our section on Your Payments.
