What are the available user roles?

  • User roles determine the key roles that a user can perform in Commercial Banking Online. It defines what parts of the service they have access to and what actions they can perform. Users can have more than one user role assigned to them.

    Primary Administrator

    Users with the Primary Administrator user role are responsible for managing your users in Commercial Banking Online, including who can make or approve payments from your registered accounts. They can create new users (including Administrators), edit or delete existing users and manage users’ security devices and security settings.

    Only we can create users as Primary Administrators of your Commercial Banking Online service. If a new Primary Administrator is required, you’ll need to complete a Commercial Banking Online amendment form, available from your Client or Relationship Manager.

    Users with the Audit user role can run audit reports to monitor how your organisation’s Commercial Banking Online service is being used. They can run reports on:

    • what actions have been taken on users, either by other users or by the system
    • what actions have been taken by or for users
    • what actions have triggered a change of status in users.
    • what actions have involved a Security card, reader or PIN.

    Primary Administrators and Administrators can assign the Audit role to another user.

    Payments and cash management

    Users with the Payments and cash management user role can manage your organisation’s accounts in Commercial Banking Online. Depending on the payments and cash management sub-roles assigned to them, they can view and monitor your organisation’s accounts and balances, create payments, manage payments (including approving, rejecting and deleting payments) and run payment and account reports to monitor the current status of your organisation’s finances. The payments and cash management sub-roles a user is assigned will determine what entitlements the user has and what information they can see in Commercial Banking Online.

    Primary Administrators and Administrators can assign the Payments and cash management role and associated sub-roles to another user. If a user has been assigned a Payments and cash management user role, they must be assigned at least one payments and cash management sub-role.
