Care group opens £3.8m health centre with funding support

A GP practice opened the doors to its new £3.8million health centre in Gloucester, thanks to funding support from Lloyds Bank.

The new Kingsway Health Centre is operated by Rosebank Health, which already has two other surgeries in Gloucestershire.

The centre is designed to meet increased demand for healthcare services created by several new residential property developments in the surrounding area and will serve 13,000 patients.

Serving the community, creating jobs

Rosebank Health secured funding from Lloyds Bank to pay for the 9,279 sq ft premises, which features 14 clinical rooms, treatment rooms, a minor operation suite and an on-site pharmacy.

Upwards of six jobs have already been created for the roles of nurses and reception staff. The practice is currently recruiting for GPs, too.

"We identified this location with help from Lloyds Bank and snapped up the opportunity to add this to our growing network of surgeries."

Wyndham Parry, practice director, Rosebank Health

"We have worked for a number of years to secure the perfect site for our next surgery, and it certainly hasn’t come without its difficulties.

"We wanted somewhere that’s accessible and has the facilities needed to care for the growing population in the area.

"We are pleased to finally open the doors to residents and look forward to becoming part of the local community."

Steve Pratt, senior healthcare banking consultant at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: "The team at Rosebank Health is extremely ambitious and has the best interests of their patients at heart."

Ambition and resilience

Steve Pratt added: "Our latest Healthcare Confidence Index shows an uplift in general business confidence in the sector, and we are seeing increasing numbers of GPs, dentists and pharmacists opening across the South West of England.

"This ambition and resilience is encouraging to see during periods of ongoing economic uncertainty."
