I want to find a user

  • If you have an Administrative role you can find and manage users in the Users section of your Administration page. If you can’t see those users you want to manage, you can find them by performing a search.


    1. On your Administration page (select Administration at the top of Commercial Banking Online if the page is not already displayed), click Search users to display the Search screen.
    2. Enter the user’s first name, last name and / or username, as appropriate. Alternatively, click Advanced search to perform an advanced search. If you’re unsure of an exact name or want to search for users with similar names, try a wildcard search.
    3. When you’ve entered all the search terms you want, click Search to display the search results.

    1. On your Administration page (select Administration at the top of Commercial Banking Online if the page is not already displayed), click Search users to display the Search screen.
    2. Click Advanced search to display the advanced search fields.
    3. Enter or select the advanced search terms you want to use, as appropriate.
      • First name. Enter the user’s first name, if known.
      • Last name. Enter the user’s last name, if known.
      • Username. Enter the username, if known.
      • User status. Select the user’s current status, if known.
      • Role. Enter the name of a Role assigned to the user.
      • Administrative group. This field is only available to Primary Administrators if you have Administrative group settings. Enter the name of the administrative group to which the user you are looking for belongs. 
      • Date created. Select the earliest and latest dates when the user could have been created by clicking Calendar icon and selecting the dates required.

        The From and to dates should be less than or equal to today’s date. The to date must be equal to or greater than the From date.
      • Date amended. Select the earliest and latest dates when the user could have been amended by clicking Calendar icon and selecting the dates required.

        The From and to dates should be less than or equal to today’s date. The to date must be equal to or greater than the From date.
        If you’re unsure of the exact search term you want to use, try a wildcard search.
       
    4. When you’ve entered all the search terms you want, click Search to display the search results.

    Use a wildcard search to search for something when you’re not sure of its exact details.

    Enter at least three characters of the term you are looking for and use the symbol * to replace parts of the term. For example Mo*, *M1*, M*o.

    Display the search results

    Once you’ve entered your search terms, click Search.

    Everything that matches the search terms you entered will be displayed in the Search results.

    Double click on a Search results row to display the full details of the selected user. 

    If nothing matches the search terms you entered or you can’t see what you want in the search results, click Search again to try another search. Try entering fewer search terms to get more search results.

    Once you’ve found the user you are looking for, you can activate, reactivate, suspend or delete them, manage their security settings or manage their security device settings.

    Manage columns

    To change which columns of information are shown in the Users section of your Administration page or on your user search results, take the following steps.

    1. Click Edit columns to display the Edit columns screen.
    2. Tick the box next to the name of each column you want to view.
    3. Untick the box next to each column you don’t want to view. At least one column must be ticked.
    4. Use the Up button and Down button buttons to change the priority order in which the columns are displayed from left to right.
    5. When you’re ready, click Save to see your changes in the user list. 
      If you decide you don’t want to proceed with your changes, click Small x (close).

    To sort the user data that appears in a column, click on the column’s name. Arrow icon or Down arrow sort will be displayed next to the column’s name to indicate the current sort order.
