I want to set the number of votes for a Role

  • If your organisation has Votes approval set up for Commercial Banking Online, all payments must be approved with a minimum of six votes. Votes are managed through Roles. A user who has an approver Role can have one or more votes depending on the Roles they have been assigned. 

    If you are a Primary Administrator, or your user account has been assigned a Role with the correct entitlements, you can set the number of votes assigned to a Role in the Roles Maintenance screen.

    1. Create a new Role or Modify an existing Role that you want to change the voting entitlements for.
    2. In the Payments tab click on Payment arrow to open a list of different payment types.
    3. Click on the payment type that you want to set the vote approval for. This will open up further options for Freeform, Template and Payment Import.
    4. Click on one of these options to open the functional entitlements. Here you will be able to specify if a Role is able to View, Create, Modify, Approve, Unapprove or Delete a Payment.
    5. Tick Approve to open the approval option, you’ll be able to set number of Votes here.For your security, and to help protect against fraud, we recommend at least two approvers for all payments.

      If your organisation has been setup to have a minimum of two approvers then you will only be able to assign a Role a maximum of five votes. If your organisation has been setup to allow one approver for a Payment you can assign a Role up to six votes.

    6. When you have finished adding the voting entitlements, click Save.
    7. The Role must be approved before the changes will take effect. Once approved the Roles entitlements will be updated the next time the User logs in.

    If you want all your payment types to have the same voting rights you can set up a default in the Global Settings section at the top of the Payments Tab. This allows you to set a specific voting allowance which will then filter down in to each Payment category. If you require one or more payment type to have a different voting entitlement to the allowance you have just set, you can adjust them individually after you have used Global Setting.
