I want to modify a pre-defined role

  • Commercial Banking Online comes with three pre-defined Roles which you should modify to suit the needs of your organisation before assigning to your users. The three pre-defined Roles are:

    •    Audit Role (AUDIT)
    •    Statement or View Only Role (STATEMNT or VIEWONLY)
    •    Payment Creator Role (CREATOR)
    •    Payment Approver Role (APPROVER)
    •    All Payments Role (ALLPYMNTS)
    •    Administrator Role (ADMIN)

To modify a pre-defined Role you must be a Primary Administrator, or Administrator on a site with administrative groups.

For recommendations of specific entitlements that you should control, see our section on the pre-defined Roles’ Data Permissions and entitlements.

To modify a pre-defined Role, we recommend that you create a copy of the Role and then modify the copy:

    1. On your Administration page, select Manage roles to display your organisation’s existing Roles on the Role Maintenance screen.

    2. Click Down arrow in the row of the pre-defined Role you want to modify and select Copy  from the pop-up menu displayed. This will create a copy of the pre-defined Role that you will modify to suit the needs of your organisation.

    3. Enter a Role Name for the copy of the pre-defined Role. The Role Name must be between four and eight characters long and must be unique.
    4. Enter a Role Description for the copy of the pre-defined Role. The Role Description can be up to 64 characters long.
    5. Click Save and continue to proceed to the Role Maintenance screen.

    6. Change the Role’s Data Permissions and entitlements as required, to ensure your organisations requirements are met. For recommendations of specific entitlements you should control, see our section on the pre-defined Roles’ Data Permissions and entitlements.
    7. Click Save to save the Role and authenticate. A message confirming that the Role has been saved is displayed.
    8. Click Small x (close) to return to the Role Maintenance screen.
    9. Approve the Role.

You can now assign the approved Role to users in your organisation when you create a user or edit a user
